Optimization recommendations can include adding and dropping indexes, schema changes, even re-writing entire queries and batches. Qure Optimizer runs the workload you specify against a copy of your production database, makes actual changes, then re-runs the workload against the changes to make sure they lead to better performance - recommendations that have actually been proven to improve your workload.
Advantages of using Qure Optimizer special edition include:
- The workload definition is extracted from your existing SQL Sentry repository instead of a trace you create and run from scratch, leveraging data SQL Sentry is already collecting, eliminating additional load on your server.
- You can tune your entire workload in a single process rather than tuning individual objects or queries one at a time.
- Since the analysis also re-runs the entire workload, you can know exactly what you will gain in terms of CPU, I/O and duration improvements.
- The entire process works with a copy of your production database, so you do not risk untested changes in your live environment. The optimized copy of your database becomes the source for migrating selected schema and query changes to production.

The Power Suite consists of two products that integrate together within the same console. SQL Sentry Event Manager provides an Outlook-style calendar view across your servers to monitor jobs, packages, reporting services reports, and other events. Performance Advisor provides in-depth performance monitoring in real-time as well as historically on your SQL Servers, and indentifies top SQL statements, blocks and deadlocks.
